This is my first computer using the Vista OS and I keep experiencing an anoying problem.?

Everytime I close one open internet explorer window, I get an error message saying exployer has stopped working for an unknown reason forcing me to close it and thereby close all my open explorer windows. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

It's not an uncommon error and frequently happens after an operating system updates itself. Updates are commonly installed without the user's knowledge as many operating systems ship with automatic update enabled. Restart your PC and the problem should be ok.

make sure you get all the latest updates from microsoftupdate.com
What that usually means is that a browser window is still busy and needs to complete its process. You might first change all of the browser windows to be on a simple text site like http://www.google.com and then close them.
Yes It is microsoft letting you know the pecking order!
Something is not installed right... go to www.microsoft.com and re-download and install IE, that might do it...
Backup your data and either A. Use system restore and restore to the day you fired up the laptop or, B. Un-install windows Vista then re-install it (using disks that you should of got, if not then call up mircosoft they'll give you free ones)
You might have too many add-ons associated with Internet Explorer. Try resetting IE back to default settings. Click Tools, Internet Options. Click on the Advanced Tab. Towards the bottom of the Advanced page, look for Reset Internet Explorer default settings...and click Reset. Follow any remaining instructions. You will now have a "fresh copy" of Internet Explorer that will run more efficiently. Just remember that the more bells and whistles you add to IE, the slower it will run until it just crashes(freezes).
