In Vista, can you change the display options to save on RAM?

For example in XP, you can revert the display settings to look like Windows 2000 to make it run faster. Does Vista have anything like that. As I don't particularly want Vista. Heard a lot of bad things about it, hogging loads of RAM etc. But looking to buy a new PC and most now automatically come with it.

It doesn't hog ram. If you researched, you will find out the ram usage is for superfetch.



But, you can change the graphics settings by right clicking the desktop, click personalize and click theme
