Just change the default program that opens when you open your music. Right click on one of the Mp3s. Go down to properties. Click open with. . And switch it to i-tunes.

Any file type that you wish to play in itunes must first be compatible, itunes is a very versatile program, so it plays most commonly distributed file types, then you must 'Right-click" on the different file types(one type at a time) [ex. mp3, then mp4, etc...] at the bottom of the pop up menu, select "properties," then you will see a button labeled "Change..." next to the text: "Opens with," you can also see next to the "change button" the file that is already the default player. When you click "Change..." you will see another pop up window, carefully look through the choices until you find "itunes" as an option, choose it and make sure to read all available options before clicking "OK" for example it may ask "always use this program to open this file type...all that's left to do now, is click "OK" then "apply" on the next window, then click "OK" once again to close out the process, now just double click the file to test out your changes, and you should be good to go...also sometimes, but not too often you may have to restart your computer after making changes...I hope I've answered your question adequately
The "Open With" option is not permanent.

To permanently associate files open "My Computer" and go to tools, folder options, file types. Scroll down to the music files you want to associate such as MP3, MP4, etc., and change the "Open With" option here.

Bear in mind, iTunes will not play wma or wmv files without converting them first.
go to the apple website and click itunes and ipod and it will ask you if you want to download itunes. if you already have it you will open your music folder in itunes.
