How does one solve driver errors on Vista with a USB printer that gives message about no associated

I recently solved the infamous black screen after login problem, and am hoping this one can be sorted out too. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. The errors are connected with rundll and newdev.

You don't say what brand of printer, I suggest you go first to your printer's manufacturer's website for any new drivers.

You might then try deleting all printers from your printer folder in the control panel then restart windows and see if it picks up your printer via the add new printer wizard.

It maybe there isn't a current Vista driver for your printer, in that case you must have a pretty old printer.

It might also pay you to check all cables - you did that right?

And also your USB ports in device manager.
