i have windows xp and i am considering vista but is it any good or is it about the same as xp.

Essentially you tell XP what you want to run and it will comply without too much argument.



Vista tells you what it will allow you to run and prohibits you from doing as you please.



Also Vista degrades all audio and video files by 60% unless they are digitally signed by Microsoft in the form of WMA or WMV files with acquired licenses.



And any copies of audio or video files made with Vista are automatically corrupted.
