Changing Vista product key to new computer?

I got a new computer and installed vista which I also previously installed on another computer. How do I move the registration from the old computer to the new one.

Try inputting the key on the new computer, if this does not work, it will likely ask you to call a number to varify that you own an legitimate copy of the vista. If you explain on the phone that you have upgraded your computer, then they should issue you a new key - I know this works with windows xp but im not sure about vista yet.

Strictly you cannot. Your licence covers one computer and is not transferable. You are allowed to upgrade your old computer so perhaps you can construct a hybrid from your old and new computers that would qualify as an upgrade?

You may find that Internet activation is refused, in which case you will need to activate by phone and explain that you have upgraded the old computer. If the old one is still running Vista, don't let it on-line.
If you bought a full retail version of Vista you should have no probelms .. enter the existing key %26 when it fails to register you will get a phone number to contact MS.
